33 elk get out of quarantine to roam Peck Ranch

This year’s crop of elk increased by 10 before even leaving the pen.

The Nature Conservancy buys 175 acres of Current River frontage

The Nature Conservancy in Missouri announced the purchase Feb. 1 of 175 acres and nearly 1.5 miles of land along the Current River — the largest stretch of private frontage remaining in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
The acreage is below Akers Ferry near Hartshorn. It was formerly the Nature’s Place Sanctuary.
