JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Hunters harvested 14,921 deer during the statewide alternative methods portion of the fall 2012 firearms deer season, which ran Dec. 15 through Dec. 25. Top counties were: Oregon with 320, Franklin with 300, and Howell with 298.

JEFFERSON CITY–The Missouri Conservation Commission set the dates for 2013 turkey- and deer-hunting seasons at its December meeting, giving hunters plenty of time to schedule vacation.
The Commission set the following dates for turkey hunting
Ø Youth season, April 6-7
Ø Regular spring season, April 15-May 5

JEFFERSON CITY–Hunters checked 15,136 deer during Missouri’s antlerless deer season Nov. 21 through Dec. 2.
This year’s antlerless harvest increased by 697 deer, a gain of approximately 5 percent over last year. Top harvest counties for the 12-day antlerless season were Camden with 553 deer checked, Benton with 518, and Callaway with 491.

JEFFERSON CITY–Hunters shot 204,668 deer during the November portion of Missouri’s firearms deer season, topping the past four years’ harvests and confirming predictions by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC).
This year’s statewide November deer harvest is 7.7 percent more than last year and only 1.3 percent below the previous 10-year average.

Managed deer hunt applications open July 1, close Aug. 15
