The second levee blast took place at 12:37 p.m., this one near New Madrid, and one of two to open the lower end of the floodway. This opening was originally scheduled for last night, but was delayed due to bad weather at the location.

Maj. General Walsh has called a press conference for 6 p.m. tonight to update the proceedings. No mention has been made of the second outflow opening.
