A circuit judge in southeast Missouri has ruled that the Missouri Department of Conservation’s regulations regarding the use of vehicles and dogs to hunt deer are unconstitutional.

Opening weekend deer kill down

Steady rainfall that soaked much of Missouri on Sunday contributed to a drop in the number of deer taken during the opening weekend of the November deer season.
Hunters checked 86,202 deer during the first weekend of the November Portion of Firearms Deer Season, Nov. 14 through 24. That is 12 percent fewer than last year.

Youth hunters check 13,328 deer by Nov. 1

Young hunters checked 13,328 deer during the early portion of Missouri’s youth firearms deer season Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, barely missing a record.

MDC urban firearms deer results Oct. 9-12

JEFFERSON CITY-Hunters checked 1,242 deer during the Urban Portion of Missouri’s Firearms Deer Season Oct. 9 through 12.
Boone County led harvest totals with 247 deer checked, followed by St. Charles County with 160. Greene County was third with 139. The harvest consisted of 80 percent does.
